We often hear that losing weight is just the beginning of a struggle or maybe a long journey. The real tough job is to maintain it and keep it off. Teenagers these days, are highly indulged in weight loss, but surprisingly, the obesity level is also increasing in youngsters. This is because maintaining the weight that they have lost becomes very hard for them. Thus, they tend to get tired of the weight loss plans that they follow. Another reason for this is that the weight loss plans they follow are way too strict to handle for a long time.

Keeping up with a regular eating pattern is hard, and eventually, when teens get bored of it, they eat more than they should. This is the frustration of keeping your hands off from your favourite food for so long, that maintaining to the eating style gets hard. But it does not mean that losing weight and keeping it off is impossible. As they say, the word itself says “I am possible.” isn’t that too old? Anyways, coming to the point and addressing all the annoyed teenager dieters out there, this piece of article is just for you all. Here are some very simple weight loss tips for teens that can help them weight loss without getting stressed out about it or getting frustrated by the constant struggle!

Quit being strict on yourself; don't be too hard:
Instead of setting guidelines of what not to eat, focus more on what you should eat. Stop looking at the miserable side. Dig into all the wonderful things that you can eat. List them all together instead of focusing on the cut down items. This allows you to make a less strict diet. It plays with the mind basically, but it helps a lot. It will take some time to get used to the veggies and good food, but it will eventually pay off. And obviously, award yourself with a good cheat day once in a while!

    An Apple a day:
So an apple a day not only helps you in keeping the doctor away but also aids in shedding down the extra pounds. Apple has a lot of good fibre and usually serves as a satisfying stomach item too. This helps in slowing your digestion process and keeps you feeling fuller, which eventually doesn’t let you eat too often.

    Stay Hydrated:
When you lose weight and start eating a lot, the best way to avoid doing that is to drink loads of water. Whenever I feel like I am getting hungry, timelessly, I prefer drinking 1-2 glasses of water. This fills my stomach, and the hunger feeling is suppressed heavily. If you are drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily, you will feel that your urge to eat will lessen on its own.

    Non-Dairy Milk:
Dairy milk puts on some pounds on you super easily. This does not mean that you need to quit on milk because we all know how much importance it holds. It is simple as this; switch to non-dairy milk. It is really low in fat and doesn’t add fat to your body.

    Eat Veggies:

The best way to maintain the weight that you have lost is to eat vegetables. Veggies or green foods are amazing in helping one to lose weight. This is why it is very important to eat vegetables. You can pick 2-3 days every week where you will be sticking to eating vegetables all day, in both of your meals. This aids in the reduction of calories and your stored fat is used as energy too.

    Make a diet journal:
This might sound stupid, but food journaling or fitness journaling helps. It is like your very personal mirror, which tells you that you are losing track of all the endless efforts that you had put into shaping yourself. Schedule your day meals in a food journal and keep an eye on how much you follow it. This is going to aid you in staying motivated too. Also, keep an eye on your weight (check it once per month) and write it down to see the changes.

    Reward yourself:
If you are going well with losing weight and keeping it maintained, then you need to reward yourself. All the dieters know what I am talking about here; the cheat day. Cheat at least once every month. This might sound a little weird for a lot of dieters but trust me, giving short time spans for that long-awaited cheat day feels better. When you put lapses of 3 months for a cheat day, you usually get bored and frustrated with the diet in all. Thus, to make yourself feel motivated, reward yourself once every month with a cheat day.

    No binge eating:
When you decide to embrace a healthy life and a smarter you, the first thing you need to eradicate from your life is binge eating. This is the core element which ruins the entire idea of maintaining the weight that you have lost with so much effort. You get frustrated with the diet and BOOM, there you go, eating all the calories and putting on a lot of weight. So whenever you feel hungry, ask yourself this: are you really hungry, or is it just emotional eating? Majority of us are emotional eaters, and this is normal. But you need to bring it down before it ruins your weight loss.

    Go for a Run:
I won’t say exercise daily and all of that because, to be honest, the majority of us do not have time for that. Some of us are at jobs and part-time jobs together, and that only gives us time to go home and sleep. Thus, what I recommend is to run for at least 2 days every week. Choose the weekends for this or if you can run along the week, do that. Running sheds a lot of calories and is the easiest way to exercise and make your body stay in shape too. You can also dance as doing that for 20-30 minutes burns away sufficient fats.

    Plan Ahead:

The best way to eat healthily is to line up some great dishes in your freezer. If you don’t want to waste time producing meals, then do that on the weekend and store them. Easy as that; isn’t it? This makes you stick to eat whatever you have made and stay healthy too. Planning before and preparing too will help you a lot in maintaining the weight that you have lost.

The Bottom Line:

Losing weight and keeping it off is some what’s every dream at the time being. Now with these simple and easy to use tips, you can maintain the weight that you lose and track it for good too. Stay healthy and stay happy!
